Established in 1996, National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) is one of the renowned institutes not only in the field of science and technology, but also in the field of management. The campus of the institution is located in a sprawling area of 60 acres of land in a serene location in Berhampur (Orissa). Affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela, NIST Berhampur offers technical education at under graduate as well as at post graduation level and post graduate degree and diploma courses in management. National Institute of Science and Technology, working under the guidance and sponsorship of SM Charitable Educational Trust, has got the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate:
The candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as subjects of study.

Post Graduate Diploma:
The candidate should have completed Graduation in any field from a recognized University.

Post Graduate:
ME / M Tech
The candidates are required to pass B.E/ B. Tech. degree in corresponding subject from a recognized University.

MBA
The candidate should possess Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University.

MCA
A pass in graduation from a recognized University with Mathematics as a subject of study at 10+2 level is required.

Admission Procedure:

Undergraduate:
Admissions to 70% seats are done on the merit basis of Orissa Joint Entrance Test (Orissa JEE), while for 15% seats, scores of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) are considered. Rests of the 15% seats are reserved for NRI candidates.

Post Graduate:
ME / M Tech
Selection is done on the basis of GATE scores. Besides, Non-GATE candidates, who have secured at least 60%, aggregate marks Or CGPA of 6.5/10 at B. Tech./B.E level can also apply.

MCA
85% of admissions are through Orissa JEE scores, while 15% seats are reserved for NRI candidates.

MBA
70% seats are filled as per the scores of Orissa JEE, while for 15% seats scores of CAT/MAT/XAT are considered and rest of the 15% seats are reserved for NRI candidates.

Entrance Test: GATE Exam, Orissa JEE Exam, XAT Exam, MAT Exam, CAT Exam

Post Graduate Diploma:
Scores of MAT/ATMA/Orissa-JEE/CAT/XAT, followed by the performance of the candidate in GDPI is considered for admission.
